TARTAN THREADS

Tartan Threads is the launch event for a brand-new programme of work offering currently unavailable performance, workshop and masterclass opportunities to emerging classical artists, and creative industries professionals capturing and nurturing Scotland’s talent. 

 

YCA was developed from a pilot programme established within the initial implementation phases of Creative Scotland’s Youth Arts Strategy, Time to Shine. Katie Forrest was part of the initial pilot and picked up the idea with the team at the Queen’s Hall to further the concept and build the programme. 

 

The 2019 programme has the title of ‘Tartan Threads’ linking all aspects of the performance to Scotland in some way.  In the Tartan Threads programme Young Classical Artists from across the world share their heritage unifying the threads of Scotland’s globally renowned creative culture in a magical evening of outstanding performance.
