About
Young Classical Artists (YCA) is a programme of work offering currently unavailable performance, workshop and masterclass opportunities to emerging classical artists, and creative industries professionals capturing and nurturing Scotland’s talent. YCA was developed from a pilot programme established within the initial implementation phases of Creative Scotland’s Youth Arts Strategy, Time to Shine. Katie Forrest was part of the initial pilot and picked up the idea with the team at the Queen’s Hall to further the concept and build the programme.
The programme has an event title of ‘Tartan Threads’ linking all aspects of the performance to Scotland in some way. We are very keen to programme new or underperformed work and to work on interesting ideas for performance so all artists who are involved will have the opportunity to work with the programming team to agree their input.
